As we  know today that our fast growing word will be at a stand still if the internet is not available for one day. Many offices,homes,call centers,schools and industries will be down. 

So what basically is internet that today's generation cant stay without ? 

Internet is basically a computer server also known as a word wide web which is connected to a computer machine via wifi modem,  internet dongle or through a wired network. It provides information, entertainment,news, social sites etc all sitted in one place. Internet provides other applications like:

Email: e-mail stands for electronic mail. As one can says its a modern way of writing a letter over the internet. The advantage of email over a traditional letter is that the recipient to whom the mail has been written can receive the mail in a matter of min or maybe seconds. Other functions include editing the mail after it has been sent. picture messages, moving picture messages or gifs. 

information: internet is a ware house of information. There are a variety of sites that provide information which help many students in their work. sites include wikipedia, asknow, yahoo answers etc. As one knows internet is non stop growing information library.

games: One can play games online which do not need to be downloaded on to the computer. The advantage of online games over installed computer games is the this games can be played along or against your friends. 

news: internet provides us news. one can know what is happening around the world in a matter of hours. It has a advantage over classical paper newspaper is that one can get the news the same very day it happened. One can also watch videos of the same.

social sites or social interacting: One can meet or have chats to a friend over the internet. there are alot of social sites like facebook,twitter,google hangouts etc.

video conversations: One can use the internet to meet new people or see live videos or video chat with their friends while sitting at your home. skype is a software which helps in video conv.

torrents:  torrents are basically large computer files which are stored on different computer servers. Advantage of torrents over normal downloading is that torrents are faster and easy to download. The torrent file it self doesnt not conatain the file but the address of the location of the files.
